THE POWER OF NOW REVIEW
by RICHARD HARPER
A true classic by renown self help guru Eckhart Tolle. Mr. Tolle dives into the history of spending nearly two years sitting on park benches and being present and “living in the moment” before writing this book. I’m not sure I’ll ever have the time to do that in my life, however Eckhart does a great job suggesting that we all spend a large amount of time worrying and being fearful about the future. He also believes that we spend a lot of time fearing and dwelling on our past. Prior to reading this book I had never thought about the impact of those thoughts and the control it had on my life. Eckhart walks the reader through regaining the reigns of his own mind and life, teaching how to be present and mindful of himself and his surroundings. Taking the time to focus on the beauty, love, and bring back a sense of wonderment that we all once had as children.
Take the time to remove yourself from the day to day distractions that control our lives. Focus less on the meetings, traffic, due dates, debt and other things controlling our lives. Instead Tolle suggests focusing on the now and living in the moment.
Overall I found this book to be very enlightening and I highly recommend it to anyone that is struggling with happiness and connection in their own lives.
